Andaman by Sea
Regular ship services connect Port Blair to Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam. There are three to four
sailings every month from Kolkata and Chennai to Port Blair and vice-versa depending upon vessel
availability. There is only one sailing programme for Visakhapatnam in a month.

Swaraj Dweep is a natural paradise with beautiful white sandy beaches, rich coral reefs and lush green forests.
It is one of the populated islands in the Andaman group with an area of 113 sq.km and is located 39 km of
north-east of Port Blair.
The DSS operates ferry service twice a day to connect Phoenix Bay, Port Blair to Swaraj Dweep via Neil Island daily. At Swaraj Dweep auto rickshaws, taxis, buses, motorbikes are available for transport within the island. The STS Department has introduced bus services at Swaraj Dweep Island for the benefit of tourists and local public.
Shaheed Dweep is known as the ‘vegetable bowl’ of the Andaman. The widest part of the island is about 5 km in length.
You can walk the whole island in about two hours.
From Port Blair Phoenix Bay jetty, regular speed boats operated by DSS and Private Boat operators are available. Time taken is approx. one hour and 45 minutes. Auto rickshaws, taxis, cycles and motor bikes are available for transport within the island.
